Thanks Don, In the 2towers when the 3 hunters are tracking the Orcs they find an s rune and G suggests it means Sauron (S) and A corrects him saying that (S) doesn't allow his right name to be spoken or spelled or use those runes. I know we was originally known as Mairon (excellence) and was renamed (S)(abhorred) by his enemies. I wondered if he used his old name because (S) and Morgoth refer to him as Melkor in dialogue in the Sil. So I thought he maintains his original identity/namementally.
