Dear Ricky Fitness, So I kind of died a little when the video started. Just a little. I really appreciate the drum tips! I'm very beginner at the drums, and the tips you gave me were very useful. I've tried different instruments before the drums, and the drums just stuck. It also helped that I'm used to counting in eight counts because of dance. Speaking of relating drums with dance, when you said technique matters you can bet I immediately pointed my toes and got flashbacks of my dance teachers threatening us that if we don't have good technique (mainly pointing our toes), they will come up on stage and cut our foot off. I'm pretty sure that was just my ballet teacher that said that, though. Oh well. Actually, about technique, you are the third person to tell me to hold the drum sticks lightly. I try, believe me, to hold the drumsticks lightly. I guess my hands think it would be easier to hold it tightly. I'll try the baby bird trick, and think of the baby bird in the birdhouse by my garage. I'll also use the trick of playing to songs I like, since it's hard to play the actual beat of them by ear. Especially with the evil base drum and petal. Why are they evil, you ask? Well, whenever I play the drums, the little drum pad that makes the base drum sound always scoots back away from the petal, and I have to move it back every minute. I'm pretty sure they hate me, too, because the beater on the base drum pedal hit my foot and gave me a bruise. So, I may have gotten off point a million times, but what I'm trying to say is thank you for the video, I really enjoyed it. Sincerely, Marley
